Apartment (with corner to sit, sleeping room, living room, entrance hall) in minimalist Japanese style). Don't forget to take a walk in the beautiful garden! Breakfast and dinner served in a private room. I recommand strongly to have dinner at Baien. A traditional Japanese meal consisting of seven (or more) courses. Lots of variation with seasonal fresh products. A real treat. Lovely in- and outdoor onsen.

Amazing. The sunset view on a good day is truly an amazing one. I managed to get a seat for dinner facing the sunset and wow, the sunset and the dinner is one that i will never forget. The private bath that i book was big enough and the public bath was also very impressive. I’m very happy i managed to book this place. The lounge time after dinner where they serve soft drinks is a good time to relax before and after bathing time.

This property is widely spread out and the Onsen offer both public indoor and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is big and offer a relaxing natural environment. There is also two private outdoor pools on a first come first serve basis. However, there isn’t any towels available in the private pools.

The room was splendid - really spacious, exceptionally clean and well-appointed with wonderful big windows/lots of natural light. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was very generous and traditional. They offer free happy hour every night with a great selection of drinks in the lovely lobby/lounge area. The onsen options were stunningly designed and just gorgeous, as are the hotel grounds. The have private family onsens which was a great option as our teenage daughters were not keen on the female public bathing. You get a fabulous view of Mt Yufuin and if you like walking, the walk into town is delightful and not too far. The town has many great places to eat/shops. I wish we had stayed more than one night!

Breakfast and dinner provided was exceptional, a great experience to have traditional Japanese style dinner and breakfast. Outdoor public onsen is very nice. Mini self-service bar at night in the hotel lobby was great for friends to chill and enjoy.

Group onsen holiday experience. The hotel was lovely and quiet. Dinner and breakfast that was served was great, along with the open bar offered for the guests later in the evening. The tatamis were extremely comfortable but the duvet was a bit too thick. The onsen was nice and relaxing with both an outside and inside portion. Family onsens are also available but they were always in use, so we never got a chance to use it.

Very calm surrounds of the property. It was a bit of a distance to walk to the stations and other points of interests though. Definitely need a taxi if you are coming from the station with luggages. The kaiseki dinner was pretty good. There is 2 private onsen which was really nice as it allows you to enter with your family privately. However, there's not really a reservation system, so you have to be lucky, or wait and try to queue for the it in the cold.

The food was amazing. They stuffed you like a turkey. Onsen was relaxing. Rooms were big and they kept them warm. I liked that they had a private onsen you could go to and wait instead of dealing with the hassle of making reservations.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Meals were sumptuous and well executed, kudos to the chef. We were so full from breakfast and dinner that we skipped lunch. There was also one staff who was exceedingly polite when he served our meals for the first few days. Unfortunately we did not get his name and he wasn't assigned to our room on the third day. Private onsens are outdoor and great too. There may be a line sometimes but we never had to wait too long to get in.
